Youth of the Peaks

Youth of the Peaks (YOTP) organizes youth on a regional level to defend the San Francisco Peaks from further desecration. The Peaks are sacred to over thirteen Indigenous nations in the Southwest. Arizona Snowbowl is attempting to expand ski trails and use reclaimed wastewater to make artificial snow.

YOTP organizes rallies, vigils, educational events, and will be organizing a massive regional mobilization in March 2006 to stop this effort and defend the sacred. YOTP is starting chapters on the Hopi and Navajo Nations as well as within neighboring cities in the Southwest. This is the fastest growing project of the Youth Movement.
