Native Movement Action Fund (NMAF) is an Indigenous/Native-led 501(c)(4) established in late 2023 to make a meaningful contribution to the crafting of policy solutions and the development of governance leadership that we know we need. This critical infrastructure allows our ecosystem of organizations to conduct comprehensive lobbying and accountability campaigns regarding elected officials, and strengthen our collective voice as we call for justice and healing in Alaska.

Why NMAF Exists

Across the country, election politics is becoming increasingly contentious while a far-right contingency grows its toolbox. A visionary progressive future must be articulated in our electoral system and codified in our governance structures. Visionary progressive C4 organizations willing to push the edges of what is considered "politically realistic" must be invested in. NMAF is one such organization.

Our Approach: Moving Beyond "Politically Realistic"

NMAF challenges conventional political wisdom by building power rather than merely seeking access to power, and articulating a visionary progressive future that inspires rather than merely responds.

Our Unique Value: What NMAF Brings

  • Deep rural reach through Mobilization Center partnership and authentic community relationships

  • Cultural credibility that others cannot replicate

  • Transformative vision willing to push beyond what's considered "politically realistic"

  • Proven ecosystem as part of Native Movement's comprehensive infrastructure

  • Strategic courage to hold power accountable without fear of losing "access”

"We're not just participating in politics -
we're transforming what's possible."
