One of our longest standing baskets of work is our commitment to movement building via the support of emerging and long standing grassroots-led groups and organizations. Native Movement provides administrative and fiscal support for Indigenous and grassroots-led projects that align with our vision of building healthy, sustainable, & self-determined communities for all.
We are excited to share time to learn from several change makers leading movements across Alaska. Some of these projects represent organizations who are Native Movement Community Affiliates (fiscally sponsored groups), and some are from our inaugural Open Call Fund with the rotating theme of Alaska Native Art in 2025.
Every person, regardless of the amount you are able to donate, is a meaningful part of this movement. Community and individual donations are vital to us in so many ways – we feel your partnership and we can cover the costs of organizing and advocacy.

2024 Northern Organizers Summit

We will spend time deepening into our theme of Ceremony as Resistance and how ceremony has built collective power and shaped Indigenous communities. We will listen and learn from elders in an intentionally intergenerational space. We will formulate collective understandings of organizing skills and ways of building people power. All with the intention of sharing skills to empower each other, our communities, and lead us to collective liberation.

Below are some brief descriptions of the tracks participants can choose from. Because of the content of this camp, each applicant will be required to list a "community reference.” We are prioritizing participants who are trusted by and accountable to their community.

Participant travel scholarships will be available.

Creative Resistance Arts: This track is for those interested in learning how to make and use banners, screen prints, performative intervention, and a variety of other creative tools to produce effective images and messaging for use various ways. This track will discuss the importance of art, storytelling, and culture in everything we do.

Action Media: It’s time we take back our own narratives, tell our own stories about the issues our communities face and build solidarity across our movements. Participants in this track will develop skills in amplifying actions held by our communities that center stories from the frontlines. Learning social media tools, consent in the work, framing and messaging tips, action media planning and strategy all while knowing our legal rights.
