Announcing the Nankat Liberation Center

Native Movement has long envisioned the creation of a space that would serve as a Movement Campus -- a space for healing retreats, and a space to strategize, share, and carry out hands-on learning in-community. As with all of our work, this community visioning has been grounded in prayers and love. It is from this place that we are humbled to share that the vision is becoming reality!

The Nankat Liberation Center is being established on land just outside of Fairbanks!

Nankat means "on the land" in the Gwich'in language; in this way we honor our roots as Native Movement was founded in Gwich'in territory.

"This is a space for our communities to put into practice regenerative ways of being -- learning, healing, innovation, and strategizing."
- Princess Johnson, board president

We invite you to join us in the planting of new seeds and building out of the Center. One way you can immediately assist is in donations. Our immediate needs include:

In the coming months, more will be shared about the vision and history of this area of growth. We are excited to grow the space into the vision we have dreamed of, with our community, and with YOU!

"For the Revolutionaries and the Community Builders, space to be our full and fabulous selves, space to learn and share with one another, is critical to our movements. "
